Dassault Mystere IVA

There aren't a lot of options when it comes to building one of these, so I went with what I could get - the Matchbox version

It's a pretty good example of a Matchbox kit, though, with the two different colours of plastic and a 'cockpit' that is just a representation of a seat if, like me, you leave the pilot out

I neglected to take photos, but I added plasticard to the sides of the seat and masking tape for restraints
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/1/8/5/1695185-80843-84-pristine.jpg)
And added further plasticard to close the gaps into the fuselage from the back of the cockpit, plus add an instrument panel

With a dark cockpit, you can't see it all in the finished version, but I know it's there...

The kit has been out of production for some time, and the version I managed to get had been affected by damp so most of the decals were unusable, but aftermarket options weren't exactly plentiful either

With hindsight, I would have been better to paint the red lines rather than use the original decals, or cut the excess decal film off

This is where the current rabbit hole of French jets took me after the Mirage IV and Mirage 2000. There is now a large collection of them in the stash...

Album info
Matchbox Mystere IVA with plasticard added to improve seat & cockpit, and aftermarket decals. Damp had got to original kit and damaged the decals.
