Kikka

Compared to the Me-262 the Kikka is much smaller, has no swept back wings and looks more conventional.

I'm not spending a lot of effort on the cockpit, since the canopy will be closed. I only have to add some seatbelts now.

Dark grey primer. I'm using enamel paints for this one.

Undersides are Revell FS36270. Uppers are Revell Matt 48 mixed with Humbrol 149 1:1. I wanted to use and mix what I have in the paint stash.

I think the paint mix looks pretty good like the Imperial Japanese Navy green which the airplane had. National markings are spray painted on. Decals feel very thick, just like the ones on the Reppu from FineMolds.

Interesting subject! I had thought the kikka was almost a direct copy of the Me-262, kind of like the shusui/Me-163 but I see that's not the case. How is the kit? Looks good on the sprues at least.

It's a beautifully molded kit. Very fine detail. Fit is okay, except for the wings to fuselage, but nothing too concerning. There are a couple of sink marks though, which forces me to look foor other main wheels. The Kikka used Zero wheels so that's an easy fix. All in all I like the kit a lot, it looks delicate and to scale, unlike Airfix for example. I already built their A7M1 Reppu, so with the Kikka as a subject I didn't think too long when I came across this one.
