UH-1Y is one of the most sexy helicopters, so I cannot miss this kit. It is from Dream model and is a conversion from their AH-1Z kit with one additional sprue. The moulds are very nice and detailed, and I have notices only two mishaps - the nose optical station and the formation lights at the roof, the rest is very accurate for the 1:72 scale. What I disliked most of all is that its doors are closed, and you cannot cut them out without further restoring the hull (because sliding doors overlap). Probably I'm not ready for such a work so I left everything as it is.
Building this model was quite easy and rewarding. It has small number of parts, and the PE interior is very straightforward and simple (although it is completely wasted due to closed doors). Two halves of the hull don't match very well but it is quite easy to fix. Painting with Vallejo paints was not complex at all. The decals are only for high-viz schemes but I chose the simplest one that closely follows a regular low-viz markings. There is just a handful of stencils but for the scale it is OK.
