Now that is an inspiring paint job! Based on an actual vehicle?
10 July 2013, 20:58
Albi Hitz
Thanks ... Its based on the Dragon Instructions Budapest 1945 ....
i don't know, it looks elaborate for field painting in 1945 ...
but its something different 🙂
To achieve this pattern was the impulse ....

Some interesting camo schemes in Hungary 1945. The 6th ss panzer army, which was sent to Hungary after the Battle of the Bulge for Operation Spring Awakening, had their vehicles whitewashed but there was actually no snow at all. So the troops had to improvise really fast. Mirko Bayerl posted the picture of a panzer IV covered in cornstalks on M-L forums for example.

Really wonderful and very impressive! To say: I am deeply impressed. I love the look of the gun breeches!

Very interesting painting technique for the "ribbons." I don't know anything about armor, but I like what you have done here. The paint chipping and wearing is very realistic.

Thank you for your kind words and participation mates!
To be honest the Camo pattern was a proposal by Dragon and I asked myself ho to take it ... maybe it useful for some fancy paintwork on planes in the future 😉
The chipping on the breeches is good to try out different techniques (sponge, chipping fluid, brush ...) on small parts.
... unfortunately you can't see it after all ... but you know ... it's in there!

@ Eend Your welcome! I always try to do something special 😉 sometimes it works and sometime it doesn't.
@Mike
its not as boring as the usual red brown / olive-green / dark yellow or day yellow with the blurred withe camo ... 😉
