Incredible. What did you do about the engine cowling? I am planning on using one of the spares from an old Hasegawa Zero, as I have heard that is a good "fix".

As I remember (that not easy after one and a half decade - oops :/) the cowl was rescribed, thinned inside, cutted out the cooling plates and replaced with thin typhographic aluminum plate and the beginning of the air scoop was replaced with that material too. The contour of the kit is quite good anyway.

You did a really nice job! Most of the 1/72nd scale in my gallery were built then too. A couple of them are newer builds. I mostly do 1/48th scale now. You really did great in bringing this kit into a quality range. 🙂

Thanks a lot! Improve old kits could be very rewarding - ie. You cannot do to much with a Tamiya Storch (O.K. I love that kit too... 🙂 ).

Thank You Christian! Actually I prefer old but upgradeable kits to short runs.

And yet another old Airfix! Fiat G.50bis (Nr. 01046) in 1:72. This was the 1992 box issue. Very old kit; practically had to "reenginered" almost everything to achieve a good result but back then this was the only game in town - I built it approx. 15 years ago. The decals are the stock 🙂
