Thanks 🙂 so far fit is ok considering the age of the kit. The biggest problem I see is the grill doesn't sit properly on the front. I will be priming the cab today for paintwork - Krylon racing red.😉 in the meantime the chassis and engine can go together, and I am rebuilding the front bumper into something more manly, lol. Thanks for the comment! 🙂
Playmobil... THAT thing to have during my childhood. 😄
The black surface spray is for a rusty look afterwards? Please tell me more about how it works...😉
Oops, I forgot I live in "The Great White North"! The textured black look will remain as is, it is intended to replicate spray-on truck bed liner, which is a permanent spray treatment to protect the bed, underchassis, etc. "Rhinoliner" is probably the best known brand. Unlike traditional "drop in" bedliners that can retain water underneath this spray is a permanent bond with the truck..the favoured option in cold or wet/salty environments.. 🙂 I opted for Krylon's textured spray paint which is kind of a miniature version - it's intended to make a surface appear "stone"...but I thought it looks great as a bedliner spray in 1/24 scale 😛
@Fabian - yah, Playmobil - I first got interested when I was a kid in the UK, where they were called "Play People " or "L'il People", I have been collecting them for about 36 years, they are actually quite valuable because they are discontinued every few months😉
..of course the German versions are highly sought after here, as Playmo has a Canadian line, with appropriate colours and stickers..;P
A few more details to look for in the spares bin....a Kenworth air horn I just remembered I have..somewhere..😢 and I need to fashion some Evergreen rods as width indicators which will double as warning flags for other motorists, another safety requirement in the "modern age" 🙂
ok, thanks for the explanation. Not a pickup coutry here😉
Yeah, some older Playmobil stuff can get quite rare, sepecially as some 5 year olds like to play with it.... But I think I grew up when they made the best stuff. Castles, Fire engines, Pirate ships, a submairne (both working in the bathtub), not that stupid SciFi-Super-Agent stuff 😄😉
Lol, yes I just saw your country, not too many F 350's I imagine. We'll see what this little truck looks like when it's finished!😉 Yes, my fave playmobils were the pirates, construction and the film crew guys! 🙂 Have you ever been to the Yukon in Canada? Lots of Germans visit Whitehorse for hunting tours, skiing, snowmobiling, dogsledding, etc. Many even live there and own businesses...lots of German shop signs! 🙂
The finish of that cargobay looks pretty cool. But I think it would look overscale in 1:35... too bad.
I haven´t been to the Yukon, respectively to any country on the american continent so far, it´s a bit to far for a student with no excuse (gap year, eg...).😉 And I´m still busy with the rest of Europe...
I was considering a similar spray for anti-slip coating, but you are right - way too big for 1/35!
That was what I had in mind, but it dosen´t quite wort out. I´ve achived good results with flour in 1:72, but haven´t tried anything in 1:35... anyway most of what I build is too old for anti slip anyway 😉
Thanks, so far I have to consider me quite lucky, I think I´ve seen more of the world as a few of my mates combined. And of course done quite some shit aswell (positively of course)., Bathed in the Irish rain, walked drunk through Barecleona at night, ate Spam with Nessi.... stories not everybody can tell 😄

Album info
The venerable classic Revell GMC in the guise of a snowplow. I have always loved the lines of this truck (I've owned three Suburbans!) and have never done one in miniature. A little "panzered out" so will start this with some minor scratchbuilding and refining. Some tools and such will have to be made from scrap n/ styrene, as well the toylike jerrycan will need new handle, caps and holder. I am going to add a refueling tank salvaged from a tragic AMT Kenworth kit. The hose is from the Revell Fire Accessories kit. I may adda "job box" or sidewall toolboxes and MAYBE a tailgate salt dispenser. A few signs and decals from the spare box to supplement the kit ones and a small length of jewellry chain from the dollar store, and IF I can fit a winch I will do that too! Seems appropriate - it doesn't snow out here much but it's damn cold! 😛
