Mini Art's "A Dispatch rider asleep on his motorcycle".

Album image #1
To begin with, it was the box art that made me want to get these kits in a series, as it is a subject that no other manufacturer has addressed and the detail will not disapoint those who build them.

Album image #2
And, for the record, this one is sure to be the image used for the box art. 🙂

Album image #3
After trolling through hundreds of images, I found one that looks similar to the box art. 🙂

Album image #4
Like the pits at Datona 100 of the 40's hehehe. 🙂 and an idea for a dio me thinks. 👍

Album image #5
The etched brass items are some of the most delicate I have ever seen, right down to the "Wing nuts" for the clamps on the battery terminals.

Album image #6
These items are found attached to the "A" runner and are compatable with all the other model of the series.

Album image #7
As the two parts are squezed together, the spokes will get lodged in the lower half of the tool and extreme care needs to be taken to remove it without any damage.

Album image #8
Squeezing very hard is the best way to get the brass to take it's new shape.

Album image #9
To remove the spokes takes some very careful work, as it is just so easy to deform the item if going too carelessly at lifting the edges from the tool where it will become lodged.

Album image #10
A small number of ejector pin marks will have to be removed here, as they will prevent a perfect marrage of the surfaces when glued together.

Album image #11
I have used the Tamiya super glue dispenser to govern how much glue reaches the parts I want anchored, and as you can see, it is the middle ring that gets the spokes fitted first.

Album image #12
The diamiter of the holes on the centre of both wheel spokes are totally different, so pay close attention to which is which.

Album image #13
These ejector pin marks inside the rims here were quit large and would have prevented the mating of the rims difficult.

Album image #14
The tread pattern of the tyers will all interlock perfectly if the locater pins fit to the holes , otherwise there will be no match.

Album image #15
Both the front and rear wheels are now ready for the relative hub centers to be fitted.

Album image #19
Pay attention to every wrinkle and bend otherwise it will not fit well at all.

The instructions are well laid out and clear to follow, with colour coded graphics denoting the action to be taken.

Album image #26
Like all models, there will be a small amount of clean up, but with this kit there seems to be virtually none, but I am just pedantic about getting rid of anything that would detract from the finish.

Album image #28
It is by no means, a big item, and handling all these small parts can only be done one way. That is with care and patience and a bloody sharp blade.

The upper torso with hands clasped.

Album image #79
The "Pose" is hard to get right as there is very little 'space' to play with.

Album image #80
Album image #81
All finished except the head, which will have to be on a slight turn and chin down position.

Album image #82
Like so. 🙂

Album image #83
These front fork equipment support frames are so hard to get exactly right, but I did my very best to do it. 🙂

Album image #84
They went on without a hitch.

Album image #85
Album image #86
This is the gear lever knob, and I had to get some drilling done to make sure the lever would fit. :-/

Album image #87
The mechanics are a great build, and in the following images, you will see the potential for a great diorama. 🙂

The box art is very convincing and is what will inspire a modeller to get and build these most excellent kits.

I agree, very natural and realistic poses and scenes!

I am sure there is a photograph of exactly this scene somewhere on file. for sure. 🙂 👍

Es-haq, thanks my friend, and I have several of these kits a great lot of potential for a diorama.:-O

Hi, Kezza.
Nice review on these great kits. Do you find them expensive?
You don't need any aftermarket item for a great OOB job with this ones.
So 👍 for MiniArt

Rui.My kits cost on average, $30.00 Au, but I see on the web, twice that much is being asked. WHY.?

I was asking for your feeling about quality/price relation.
I see that it cost 16,95€, in MBK.

Kerry COX
Ah, my misunderstanding.
The quality of the kits/detail is worth the price for me here, but overseas, they seems to be overpriced.

$24.00 at Sprue Brothers in U.S. store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/mia35176.htm

Wayne, That is good value if you live there, but as always, the exchange rate and the postage and handling make it all average out to 30/35 no matter where you live.:-/
But as I said to Rui, the quality and detail in these Mini Art kits really is something good. 🙂

Hi Kerry, I´m really happy about your step-bye-step. I have the motorcycle since years on my bench, but I stop the working on the cylinder, because they are don´t fit. Well, now I saw, you cut them. Easy. I will "my" cut too, so I can work on the Harley.
Thanks for that!

Arne, I am pleased I could help in some small way. 🙂
I am really happy with the way things have gone, but like all kits, some things just don't fit. LOL 👍

The mechanics need painting and the Harley is just about ready for the paint shop too. :-0

Album info

A Dispatch rider asleep on his vehicle is an other part of Mini Art's 1/35 WLA bike series, and it's an exciting thing, as it is basically the exact same bike but with different figures doing different things, making for a great diorama of a garage in the field with a lot of "Activity", and taking into consideration my first effort was a bit rough, I have this time done everything as exactly as instructed.
