Hello Mates, first cuts done. This really reminds me of the times in school when I glued my first Revell 1:144 kits together. There seems to be a lot to do with this Little plane. Parts do not fit very well and a lot of filling and sanding will be required.

Lots and lots of putty went into this tiny Phantom. A lot of time was used for the correction of the rear canopy shape which does not really match to the overall shape of the plane. Next I will give it a good coat of AK primer. For the painting I will use AK´s USAF TAC Scheme colours set.

Finished... As with every Project of mine, what starts out as a quick build turns into a major experience. After all the sanding and filling, I primed the model with AK Grey Primer, did some pre shading and then the TAC Scheme with AK colours. All went well and then the anti-corrosion coating was done with White paint. AK´s washes and Panel Liner did a good job. Finally I used AK Pigments for the desert dust. The base is from a german manufacturer. I used some road dirt for the desert sand and woodland scenics material for the vegetation. Cheers, Torben

Album info

Thanks to my friend Christian Bruer I am the proud owner of an 1:144 Aoshima F-4E/J kit. The kit will be a step aside from my long term 1:350 USS TICONDEROGA project. I will build the plane as a Vietnam vintage US graveyard plane sometime in the 1990´s.
