Yes, actually there are quite a few items missing. The 20.3 cm guns from the Aton turret, a few missing AA guns from the bow and Bruno turret and other areas. The Arado and catapult were removed as well as the starboard fore AA tower. All of these were removed at the Philadelphia Naval Yard and sent to Virginia for testing. A SCR-584 radar trailer was lashed to the bridge to test the effect of an atomic blast to the unit.

Still hurts that such a beautiful ship in perfect condition was wrecked at Bikini... Would have been a one-of-a-kind piece of history if we could see her today in a museum!

Beautiful work as always Stephen. I'm curious to know is smooth water harder to capture as rough water (i.e less ways to hide little mistakes), because you've nailed it again ?!!?

You kept a moment in history very well and the Prinz still look elegant and proud although partially disarmed and sitting high in the water.
Interesting to know, the ship survived the Able and Baker Test without any visible structural damage. She was approx. 1.900 yards (1.800 meters) far of the centre of explosion. But she was contaminated by radiation and was moved to Kwajalein Atoll. She start making water through the propeller shaft compression glands and because it wasn't possible to start her pumps she start sinking slowly close to the beach. The wreck is still there:

JW, the only real difference between rough and calm water, with the technique I use, is being careful of air bubbles from thr acrylic varnish. The process is identical otherwise.
Christian, thank you for that link. Like all of the subjects I endeavor to build, I do quite a bit of research. I really had know idea what I was in for prior to starting this project. The fact that I completed it in July on the 70th anniversary was purely by coensadance.
