Klingon Bird of Prey AMT
Initial hull sections glued, wings dry fitted
Vallejo sand grey primer - sprays well but tended to peel and does not like sanding! Even after 48hrs curing. Will use Stynelrez next time...
Primed hull
First coat of Tamiya cockpit green
Initially worried the green I chose was too dark, but after washes and varnish it looks good
Masking, masking, masking! Simple to build model but painting was a challenge
After initial contrast coats to hull: zinc chromate and Nato green
After gloss coat and initial UMP dirt wash
Nearly there, final washes, decals and attaching wings
That cloaking generator, really pops. I sprayed a thing coat of Tamiya metallic brown, then a light dusting of Vallejo light rust. I gives it a nice 'glowing' effect - an experiment that worked well
Close-up on radiator baffles, used various washes and weathering to get a slight heated steel effect, its hard to see here but a subtle colour effect.
Simple decals (four in total) but they were a bugger to put down. Thick as leather belts, needed heaps of micro sol and set... not happy with them, but they look worn and faded like the paint effect...
Warp nacelle finally painted
Basically finished... but wait...a possible display option awaits...
Docking mag lock port using Gundam stand and scratch built dock

seems like the same one of your other album, but it still is a nice model. Don't want to know how much shares you had in the modeltape company, but I guess your divident was large 😉
All kidding aside: very nice model...

Yeah sorry, I'm a noob with this thing, original album would not let me attach to a newly created project... Thanks for the comments...

Wow, this whole album thing takes some learning... finally have the right preview pic. Main construction finished, some fit issues with left wing (it dropped off - the locating pins snapped off, not a great design) Re-glued with thick CA and spot welds of Tamiya extra thin..
