Going to use this resin kit to get the right shape for converting my Airfix kit to a turboprop version. It looks like a nice little kit, its a shame airfix never did any updates. Enjoy building it!

I like seeing civil types for a change! Sick of all the Spitfires and 109's and F-14 and F-16 and F-4's even though i own heaps of all those too!

Following with interest as I would like to do the same thing. I have several Airfix Islanders. but need a turbo conversion for a special work related project.
As an aside, is that a copy of the Shropshire Star underneath your work in picture 8?

Kind of surprising nobody makes any aftermarket or a turbine conversion for the airfix kit...

Hi Graham, it's probably a copy of the Admag rather than the Shropshire Star 🙂 Are you from the Shire?

The Grey one is almost finished so some more photos up soon. Took a bit of work to make suitable props that looked right but it's been an interesting build. The only bit I'm disappointed in is the top of the windscreen and they have changed the shape of it from early versions. Could work out a way of changing it and it looking right so painted gloss black where the extension is. It also has a couple of sunroofs above the pilots heads which needed adding. Next I'll finish the resin kit in the Gulf War scheme taken from a limited amount of photos I've found online.

Yes, I am from the Shire. Born 1960, left 1980. Still have family in Wellington. played cricket for St Georges so I went to all corners of the Shire. Miss it to this day
