I got a base coat on it and the camo. Have to touch it up now and do some detailing. It is weird though. When I built the other Panzer II, I painted it with Revell Afrikadunkelgelb, which to me seems fairly close to RAL 7028, and when I sprayed a clearcoat on it, it changed to a color very similar to this base color, which is Model Master Afrika Gelbbraun RAL 8000.

I used humbrol... what was it, i'll just check.
Number 83 "Matt Ochre" as a stand in for Dunkelgelb when I painted my Wespe. It came out pretty well I thought:

I have not been doing clear coats though, don't know how to. 🙁

The Wespe looks great.I can get Humbrol here, but it is all old and pretty thick so I dont buy it.

Thanks! I use Humbrol since it's what a shop near me sells mostly, and I have been going there for a while. I do have a pot of revell acrylic though to use with a kit I am doing atm.

I just get mainly Revell, but their colors are pretty limited, as is their models sometimes. I like Model Master paints, they just cost a bit more, but there is a shop in Belgium I order from, and I usually order about 10 bottles so the 10 Euro shipping is worth it, kinda at least. I am not that big on getting exact colors, but I do like to have em close to being right at least at least. And the decals for this model, all of the Afrika Corps symbols are missing, they are always taking stuff like that out of kits in Germany. I guess ignorance is bliss in their minds.

Painted, most of the detail put on. Working on the tracks now. Track is always really rusty unless you are looking at a tank at a museum. I seen sometimes at museums they paint the track black. I was in the Army 8 years on tanks and it is already rusted when we get new track to put on the tanks. Being that these tanks and any parts they received for the had to be shipped over the sea,. I would figure any metal parts would be pretty rusted then as well. Also, any metal parts that are touching the track get polished thoroughly due to constant friction, so there is always bare metal on the supporting rollers unless they are rubber, on the Sprocket, and in this case also n the foremost wheel because it is not rubberized. I always to a major rust job on my tracked vehicles anyways. I will put up how I do it, just for kicks. Maybe someone might be interested.

Track is finished and its on, I did weathering on this one. Mainly just a layer of dust. Hopefully I can find some Afrikacorps decals in my box of extra decals because they were cut out of the decals sheet. I just love how you get sold "new" products over here that are missing something because of a symbol. It really doesn't even make any sense. Taking symbols off stuff isn't going to make the idea go away. I would just like to receive the stuff I order complete so it is historically correct, or at least as close as I can make it.

OK, I finished it, took some pictures, a couple also alongside the other Panzer II I built, think they both turned out all right though.

Album info
I like this tank, and this kit is so easy to build, I decided to build a second one with a different camo.
