Painting progress

Album image #1
I will probably leave the canopy open in the end as the little pilot figure is not that bad for a budget kit. I went with a golden olive scheme for the flight suit and the orange for the visor.

The instrument panels are interesting. I chose a blue-grey tone for the interior and applied some acrylic washes and simple highlights to spice it up.

The base color for the light parts is a Vallejo Buff/Iraqi Sand mixture, the shading is Chocolate Brown/Black. I will probably do a light highlight for each panel before misting it with a buff/bone mixture. A final brown/black oil wash should bring out the panel lines quite well.

Album info

I will try to show the major painting steps that I am taking when trying to make something decent out of this kit. I am trying to replicate the classic old style paint scheme for the A-wing. As seen in the original trilogy.
