I guess this loadout clarifies the takeoff/landing situation without any remaining doubt!😉 👍

It was a typical load out at the early stage of Operation Enduring Freedom, called quad bomber. The 2 Sidewinder missiles would be added soon! Stay tuned!

So were in for a 3rd reveal? 😄 Dont mind, I enjoy every single pic of this beautiful machine! A work of art and a true joy to behold 👍 I really like those photo background pics! With this amount of boom boom I understand why he kicked in the burners on take-off... 🙂

Ok, Nerd knowledge anyone? No? Anyways, did you know...Tied to the catapult they were not allowed to go full burner with the big GE motors as the off center thrust during a possible failure of one would rip the holding bar, throw the big cat around and let it spin all over the deck - just crazy crazy power...

I assume my work depicts an F-14D takeoff, at the moment just after it reaches the minimal control speed. with enough airspeed, the rudder may overcome any yaw tendency even if a single engine fails when the other is on maximum burn.

I would like to take a longer lens to take the finish photo, just like the album WIP 6

Album info

Painting the bombs: the GBU-16 Paveway II was extensively used during Operation Enduring Freedom. A full load of GBU-16s was chosen for my work, as a quad bomber at that time
