My build of the Academy 15 was a hate-love-hate affair. I was disappointed at first by the shape and lack of certain details, no cockpit, plain wheel-bays etc. Sure these kits weren't meant to be amazing, but I admit I can in with high expectations. So then I decided to improve it. I filled and re-scribed the panel lines, I scratch built a cockpit, , seat, pilot and the under-wing pylons. Then purchased Zacktomodel's F-15E detail kit for the center pylon, seat and engines. Well, some of those parts never made it on the final build as I stomped on an engine between my spray booth and workbench. And the seat did not fit with this model's scale ... sigh. I still enjoyed the scratch work. But then fell back out of love as I tried to color match the F-15A's scheme. That was a challenge. Oh, well. In flight it still looks good beside my other kits.
