I grew up on Gerry Anderson productions and Derek Meddings production design. I love everything that has "too many" wheels, engines, or props on them. Excellent Shackleton.

According to Airfix its orange in side, having been on my fathers airctaft back in the mid 70s i allway thought it was dark brown but ... up side is when the fuselage is joinedmakes no odds as you cant see it any way ????????

Well... Gerry has it with the New Captain Scarlet. Turns out SPV/Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle is trademarked, and not by Gerry. So New C-S's Spectrum called it a Rhino, and it has even more wheels and in 3 sizes.

Forgot who had trademarked the original SPV. Might have been ITV or Dinky. Many of the iconic 'acronym' vehicles appeared on the New Captain Scarlet, they had new names. And someone explained that though Gerry owned much of the Captain Scarlet 'IP', SPV wasn't one of them.

AEW MK2 SHACKLETON
Started back in late Septembers, internal cabin's went together well as did the cockpit. The only snag being that you lovingly paint these items add decals and that's the last you see of them!!!
so i decided to pop some LED's in to the cabin and hoped this would"....
After fitting the LED's i put the fuselage sections together and married up the wings complete with engines no under carriage fitted as yet...wing fit was spot on just a little filling & fettling just a nice fit. Engine nacelles need a wee bit of triming and a bit of putty but nothing to stress over....
fitted the glass sections using micro set and its worked out quite well masked up ready for painting
Okay so that when my issues started not with the kit just my painting tried mixing the humberol enamels and they mixed well and sprayed well but dried with white spots everywhere so I tried several coats thick thin same, turns out its an impurity in the white spirt no being as well refined as either humberol or proper paint thinners so once purchased and mixed paint was fine dried well and covered well too (thanks for the assistance from others on this site) the origional white spirt is fine for cleaning down but not for mixing...
painted the peripheral parts and stuck it all together looks okay clear coat when like the paint no matter how i mixed the clear (humberol 35) water humberol thinners (acrylic) just never sprayed well needless to say i rubber down repainted and re applied several times in the end I just knew i would not get the results i wanted so i pressed on cleaned up as best i could and applied the decals not what i wanted to mark up as i had hoped to mark as WL 757 but ended up being 960 as per the kit WL 757 was my dads aircraft and i thought fitting but the finish was not as good as i hoped so will add to another aircraft.
