55 Nomad build
Instead of having it one piece, I decided to give it some definition by defining the seat cushion from the frame.
So far I was liking this kit but was disappointed again by Round2 for the useless sheet of decals! Would've been nice to have some for this dash as well as the body badges!
I used the steering wheel from the DOH kit and slightly changed it.
So far trimming the leading line on the dash has helped the most. I've trimmed a little off the windshield and interior tub as well. Still trying too fix this.
O.k, so what I've figured of how to build this is..assemble doors 1st, then test fit on body and sand/file as needed. Paint doors and body, do the chrome trim around windshield and glue in windshield. trim interior tub about 2mm where dash attaches and lightly glue dash onto tub. Test fit tub and file dash as needed while watching the engine compartment firewall for fit as well as watching door jam area for fit. It should be flush with body.
And of coarse No one likes to add side mirrors to these 1/16th kits, so I had to make these just like the other 1/16th kits I've done.
O.k, we have custom headers, a nice Holley carb and filter. We have an alternator and not a generator!
After putting on the plug wires, coil and throttle linkage, I found there was an issue with how close the firewall was to them. Had to redo some wires and lay the coil down.
Can anyone figure what this plate means??? And why I chose to make it?
Incorrect wheel distance from kit.
Correct distance after modification.
Incorrect engine mount using kit location.
Again it's not right.
Had had to do some filing down on these areas for sparkplug wire clearance.
Here again.
Had to add styrene strips to sides to fill gaps to the body.
had to elongate hole for proper engine placement.
Before engine mod. Notice steering linkage to oil pan.
Corrected position after enlarging oil pan hole mount.
Had to file both sides of fan to fit between engine and radiator.
These areas need to be filed.
Had to file down lower part of dash to get doors to close. Both the front and lower parts of dash need to be filed to fit.

So in the beginning of this it looked like a decent kit only lacking in detail decals. Well so much for that! 1st my fault for not test fitting the doors before installing, then after hours of trying to get the front of the dash to fit and After installing the completed interior tub into the body the doors won't close! Come to find out the lower part of the dash as well as the upper door mold on the body prevented the closure of the doors, to which I had to file to fit. Then I went to test fit the lower chassis only to find the rear tires didn't fit right in the fender wells. Also for some reason the engine didn't fit right! Come to find out that the single pin mount for the engine was off by about 5mm which you could see by where they had the steer linkage bent to accommodate the oil pan. I assumed that this had been figured out! My bad again! So as close as I thought I'd have this done by now, everything is ripped up so it can be assembled correctly! As anything with these old kits Round2 puts out, be prepared to build a puzzle not a model kit! Pictures will follow shortly.

You know it Bill!! This kit is one of those one thing leads to another! I've had to redo the top half of the engine from handling it as well as other things! I have all sorts of filing dust inside the interior I have to some how get out as well! UGH!

Yea Mr.Bob! Yes , since this is the 2nd Nomad I've built and her 1st one got crushed I decided that this would be Tim's replacement car for her.

Album info
This is my 2nd time building this kit but this time a complete build, hopefully without crushing it! LOL! This will be with some modifications such as updated steering wheel, and sllight front seat mod. A newer 350 engine with custom headers and dual exhaust. Slotted mag wheels with fronts slightly turned and a few others. Warning: This can be a jigsaw puzzle. PM me if you need info on this.
