Album info
The ship is a US-built Asheville Class gunboat, originally named USS Defiance (PG95). In June 1973, she joined the Turkish Navy under the name TCG Yıldırım (P338). It exploded off the coast of Dikili in the Aegean Sea on April 11, 1985 burned down and then sank.
This kit from Revell is in 1:131 scale, which is pretty weird. I think it's a scale made up so that the model is of a certain length. The kit was first released in 1971. The resulting model is also a mediocre ship due to the poor injection quality of the parts, partially rotten plastic, plenty of burrs that make people crazy for cleaning, the level of detail that does not match today's conditions, and the absence of transparent parts. But as no other plastic models of this ship existed, there was no other choice.
