The subject of this build, HMS Holland No.1
The first submarine of the British navy.

The parts, it even comes with a small pe fret.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/4/9/1/1321491-41967-35-720.jpg)
Fit is excellent sofar. Parts are fiddly, and flash is all around, but the plastic is friendly to work with.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/7/2/0/1321720-41967-22-720.jpg)
Very clever design by Mikromir, by molding it this way you are able to clean the ring without the risk of breaking it, as the inner is quite rigid.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/7/2/5/1321725-41967-86-720.jpg)
The rudder and propeller in place. To make life easier I substituted the etched parts for evergreen strip.

I replaced a few bits of pe for evergreen, as one part flew off, never to be seen again...

Rudder actuators and exhaust(?) in place

Ready for paint.
I've added all of the small pieces as well, hope I won't regret it when painting.
Most will be painted by hand, as it is quite small.

Creating the rather large flag using foil and the kits decals. The flag came as one large decal, which I cut in half.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/2/1/5/1323215-41967-17-720.jpg)
The first half is placed on the foil, with a generous amount of microsol and left to dry

Basic painting is done, next step are all of those decals, and after both decals are on, weathering

Welcome Ben 🙂
Robert, I didn't know it existed until I got it for very little money from a local auction site, bought it together with the type XVII Walther u boat. After reading about it I got intrigued by it, so will build it right away, and cue it with the other subs ready to get a coat of paint 🙂

Looking very nice. I have the Peral also from MikroMir, so I am happy to see they build nicely

Thanks Spanjaard 🙂
It needed just a spot of filler, due to my building ability, the kit fits flawless.

Fantastic. The weathering is spot on. I can practically taste the saltwater!
