Main Markings are painted on. For red, used XF Red plus a little brown, for Blue used XF blue plus a little Nato black. For Yellow used XF yellow plus a little red.

Used the kit decals for all stencils, and gun tape.

The only non-kit parts used: Fabric Sutton harness from HGW.

Check the Kotare website for updates. As of May 2023 they have released a "tip sheet" with helpful hints on building the kit.

The kit instructions provide many wartime photos and explanations of the parts. It's a real learning experience.

I originally used Mr. Hobby Aqueous Dark Earth and Dark Green. The colors didn't look right so I painted over them.

One thing I didn't like about the kit was the plastic molded harness. HGW fabric harness to the rescue. I had a one in the stash, but since this kit was released HGW has released a new set specifically for this kit.

Very impressive paint job. What's your technique? Black base coat and mottling the camouflage?

it's not black basing, I used a darker shade of the faded coat. But the same idea.
This is far from done, and I need to restore the hard-edge of the camo pattern also.
