This is a really very simple kit, which is grateful for any addition of detail. In this sense, an etched interior set for a later Fw 200 has helped a little here. Either I will show the OY-DAM all in orange or in that state all in NMF with Danish cockades on the fuselage. Either way, these are two very attractive possibilities!

Wow, I am very happy about your interest! In the meantime, I have come to an agreement with myself: it will probably be the variant in NMF!

Unsurprisingly, the Fw 200A sets up without any major problems. However, a general lack of detail is becoming apparent. Eduard's interior and exterior sets for the military variant of the Condor will remedy this with a little improvisation where appropriate.

Take care, Roland... It appears that the circular window behind the cockpit is sagging inward.

Thank you for looking at it so carefully!
You are absolutely right: when I installed the small round glass surface, it quickly became clear that it would not fit, so I decided on the following plan: I mask the incorrectly seated component with it and then add a drop of "Klear Fix" right at the end. This will find a perfectly even finish with the fuselage surface and should be visible through the transparent bottom part.... should also remain transparent to a sufficient degree.

Thank you a lot Cuajete, did it! 😉
Two new pictures: the main sub-assemblies are now united and, except for the connections of the wings to the fuselage, all are sanded. A rather elegant looking but quite large model on the workbench is being built here! I am looking forward to the equally elegant Danish markings all in NMF with black engine nacelles!

this kit was my last years Advent Calender. My girlfried cut it up and I had to guess every day which plane it was. I was very happy holding this beautiful plane in civilian livery in my hand. So of course, I will follow your build.

I must say, a creative friend, great idea!
I agree, I too currently prefer civilian liveries on beautiful aircraft!

Great looking cockpit, Roland. This is on my to-build list too. I ordered, and just recieved the LN Decals Danish FW200, and plan on doing the orange one. Not sure what orange to use, though… Any suggestion?

Thank you Gordon! I'd love to help you - I've also had the orange beauty in mind for my Fw 200. But I have neither researched nor thought about it more than opening the bottles of Gunze H14 and H24 and comparing the colours to be mixed with the illustration of the machine on the decal sheet.... I probably would have stuck with it.

All in black: in the process, the need for touch-ups also becomes visible. The glue seam of the centre line was repaired once again with CA glue; in the meantime everything is sanded and ready for Alclad.

Hi Roland, Do you have any information about the interior color of the Fw-200? I was not sure to use RLM02 as this is a civilian machine.

Michael, I used a dark grey - RLM66 for short. Since I had no other source, I followed the Revell instructions.

New pictures and new progress here too: the Revell Fw 200A is really a very very simple kit, a few improvements are needed. So I have beefed up the engine fronts a bit - and I am quite satisfied with the result.
The silver surface was probably not NMF in the original, but a few tinted panel surfaces do the whole thing good - so I decided to apply different shades of Alclad and then mist the whole thing with Alclad "White Aluminum" to get a more noticeable than visible variation on the surface.

A good friend who's done this kit in Weserubung colors has had a big sanding challenge with the fuselage halves, maiinly at intrados... I see sadly you will not escape it too !

Nice to see this one coming along. The softness on detail is something that urges me into some kitbashing. Let's see whether this will be a good idea. I like the progress you present here.

Thank you for your feedback mates!
Indeed, the two fuselage halves show a strong urge to retract too far towards the glued edges. This creates a depression where clearly none belongs. Is that what you mean? On pictures 9 and 10 you can see how I am applying more material in the form of cyanoacrylate to counteract this. Previously, I had removed all the beautiful putty that I had applied for this purpose during the sanding process....
Now you shouldn't be able to see any more of it.

Exactly.
You can mix cyano glue with talc before the glue dries : it becomes really hard as the plastic surface, but is easy to sand without the problems we can meet with putty, and far cheaper ! Very nice aircraft...

I thank Euc both for tips and comment!
This afternoon it was decided that the more colourful OY-DEM will be built. With a copy of the decal sheet I cut templates along the contours of the fine black lines that will frame the red areas -and applied them today. Tomorrow I want to apply the accompanying black border lines as decals; I am already extremely curious about the effect - and whether it works!

That makes me more sure that the swing to the red-decorated OY-DEM was right.

It is done: the stripes accompanying the red as well as the other decals are applied. This was a very tricky job, but it was supported by a really excellent decal material. The carrier film is really dramatically thin: terrible to work with, nice for the result! 🙂

Now the Fw 200 "Jutlandia" is also finished! One can only be grateful to Revell that they have taken on this elegant and important aircraft type in its original, civilian form - well, a long long time ago.
The model is accordingly a very simple kit, but with these elegant forms this does not mean that with a little initiative and attractive marking possibilities one can create an adequate model of this airliner. The aforementioned initiative has gone mainly into the scratch-built antennas/wiring and the redesign of the clearly visible engines; the decals for Fw 200 OY-DEM "Jutlandia" come from "Lima November Decals", a real recommendation!
Well, now it is definitely done; the pictures try to capture a little of the elegance and beauty of this great aircraft.

As Cuajete and Robert said! And I think you did the right thing, going finally for this livery of OY-DEM - congrats! 👍 👍

Hi Roland,
did you have any problems assembling the landing gear? With mine I seem to have a big gap at the wheel. And if I squeeze the axles together they are not in line anymore. I triple checked the instructions and cannot find a mistake on my part.

Thank you very much for the feedback and your interest - I am very pleased!
Michael, what you mention is interesting: I was faced with the same problem. As a solution, I cut out the middle pieces and slimmed down the gear units a bit. At the end, however, I still had to "press" a little - but the overall impression was saved

Thanks Roland for the feedback. So it doesn´t seem to be my mistake but an engeneering error. I´ll see how I tackle this.

Great looking Condor, Roland! The red trim and gold lettering looks very sharp.
For those interested in the aircraft, a reconstruction/restoration completed in Germany...

I really love the looks of the early commercial airliners, such beautiful lines and paint schemes, and you did an excellent job on this one.👍👍👍
