Lockheed WV-2 Warning Star: US Navy VW-11

Built SOOTB as TWA L-1049G Constellation. After a few years, I stripped the decals, added top & bottom radomes to model a WV-2. If I remember correctly, I faired in half of a "Fat Boy" A-bomb from the Monogram 1:48 B-29 kit for the bottom radome and a side observation blister from a Monogram 1:100 PBY-5A Catalina with sheet plastic sides formed to shape for the top radome. Painted the top white with dark sea blue lower surfaces and decals from the scrap bin. I used the early 1960s National Geographic article on Midway Island and Gooney Birds with beautiful photos of WV-2s as my guide. Too many rivets, but turned out nicely for a "redo."
