HMS Ark Royal

First attempt building a model ship and first attempt using photo-etch. Learning through making alot of mistakes. Inspiration from alot of historical references, IWM photos and other great scale models of the Ark Royal.

At this point still uncertain the specific scenario and configuration to display her, other than in some kind of active flight operations.

The list of modifications I've made to the default Airfix kit:
* White Ensign Photoetch kit
* Drilled out numerous scuttles in the hull and island - these are pretty rough and uneven
* Armour belt made from styrene sheet
* Attempted to grind off ejection pins in hull
* Addition of two bow openings - fairleads?
* Addition of shielding for upper rear pom pom
