Believe me, István, A-model kits are much more modeller-friendly than Mach 2... Take a look here, for example: modelingmadness.com/..korean/us/hammx2.htm

That's something to be excited about. Mach2 kits don't have the reputation of being shaking kits. 👍

As I said on the project, I wish you luck with this, it is something you seldom see, but it looks cool in the end. It is quite a long time ago when I did mine - al the best!
and, so far it does not look that bad for a mach2

What an audience I have... I feel a bit under pressure now 😉 @Martin - you're right, at least the polistyrene seems to be of a good quality.

It's such a cool subject, I remember seeing it in my dads airplane books when I was young.

Robert, once again you have chosen a great topic. The French experimental jet powered Leduc aircraft looked really futuristic at the time of its creation.
I wish you strong nerves and a lot of fun building your model!

Now I feel even more pressure 😉 ... @Bruce - I know what I am talking about, I have completed a few models from both producers already 😉 @Ludvik - I was lucky enough to see both Leduc 010 and 022 in Le Bourget museum and they still look futuristic imho 🙂

Thanks guys for your comments and interest. Unfortunately, you won't see the final result until next year, I have 6 aircrafts to paint and finish this year 😉

Lovely piece of scratch work, very original display. The first wheels up model without a pilot that still is realistic i've seen so far...

What does that aqueous black surfacer 1000 thin down with? Isn't aqueous a water based paint? Does it work well as a primer or does it peel off like the acrylic "primers"?

I haven't tried to thin it with water although it is promised to work. I could airbrush mr.surfacer 1000 without thinning with my old 0,4mm needle airbrush, but in case I want to thin it I use Mr.Hobby Color Thinner 400 (turqoise colored bottle). I think this works very well as a primer. It sticks and it can be smoothed with sand paper.

Nice work so far, watching! I also use aqueous black surfacer. I thin it 50% with Tamiya's X20A, spray it with a 0.4 mm needle at 15-17 psi. It works a treat.

Thanks for the info on the surfacer. I'm looking for alternatives to using heavy chemicals, and hopefully this will be an answer.

Welcome, mates! 😄 @Skyhiker I just tried and it seems you can thin aqueous surfacer with water. I didn't paint anything with it yet.

I am all eyes! Very cool indeed! I was initially quite baffled with the Swedish markings, the "what-if" went over my head.

This turned out lovely. The metal effect on the pulse jet housing is amazing, care to explain how you did that?

Thanks, mates! @podkon I have atleast 4 He 162-based ideas left currently. @Mimoid I primed it with black aqueous surfacer that I polished, then airbrushed Vallejo's acrylic metal paints, then clear varnish and lastly Tamiya's Weathering master powders.
