Construction begins with the interior as usual. The instrument panel is done with a decal. Paints used are Gunze (Mr. Hobby) water-based acrylics. The nose section has also been assembled, and at last I didn't fix the propeller axis with excess glue (unlike I did earlier with the C-47). 🙂

Fuselage assembled; fit is good, although I had to apply some force here and there, and I think the instrument panel is a little bit narrower than it should be.

Time for my all-time favourite activity: wheel painting. While the main wheels were manageable in size, I can't say the same about the tail wheel, which is moulded in a single piece with the entire tail gear. 🙂

Ready to receive the overall green (H420) after drying of the glue. Too bad that the small piece at the top of the tail is slightly thinner than the vertical stabilizer (or maybe I didn't press the two halves together enough).

On the fuselage, the bulk of the painting is done, though minor corrections will be necessary, especially on and around the clear parts. Two coats have been applied, the second one is waiting for drying. One colour - all the rest of the construction is going to be easy, I guess. 🙂

Painting on the propeller complete.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/4/3/6/1601436-12803-78-720.jpg)
All decals applied on the fuselage; insignia and fin flash come from LF Models, serial numbers and codes are self-printed.

The wings have been put together with the fuselage, with the two dorsal "windows" installed. The bigger clear part was a bit fiddly to fit to its place (including a small gap between it and the fuselage, covered by the wing and only visible from below), but nothing extraordinary.

![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/2/1/7/1604217-12803-27-720.jpg)
Wings painted; now only the insignia, installation of a few small parts, and an overall matt finish left to complete the model. 🙂

Decals on the wings applied, matt finish in the process of drying. Again, it was done with Revell spray colour, clear, matt (02).
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/4/7/7/1605477-12803-32-720.jpg)
...and it's done. 🙂

After the more than half-year struggle with the Hercules, this was somewhat a relief, a weekend (okay, two-weekend) project, resulting in a model that fits into the palm of my hand. 🙂

The kit itself is excellent, and it held no unpleasant surprises for a beginner like me. The decal sheet by LF Models, however, was a bit trickier to manage, with black stripes to be applied piece-by-piece for the fin flash, and the Spanish roundels were a bit off with yellow colour "peeping through" on one edge. Anyway, the decals are stated to be designed for the old Huma kit, but of course, there was no problem with using it on the new one of Special Hobby.
