You have the patience of a saint to be building that - I imagine it's much better than the old Airfix moulding of the SPAD XIII anyway.

Once you cut off all the flash, there's a half decent kit under there. I've built the Academy kit a few times, so I can already see a few things I like better. The fit is as suspect as I suspected, but I think I can handle it… so we'll go for rigging as well.

Wow Greg, you have kits whose manufacturer I didn't even know. But this is a numbered limited edition. You can't build something like that - it's only for collectors to increase its value!

Good luck Greg - I've built a Meikraft kit before (and have some more in the stash) and they can be a bit of a challenge. The definition of short run kits! They do turn into nice models if you put the effort in to clean them up first.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to be back. I have been working on redoing/repairing/upgrading most of my Tintin models. But now that I'm more or less at the finish line (just a couple more to go), I'm starting to get an itch to do another project. I have a couple of Area 88 1/144 scale projects sitting on the shelf of doom, but I find it easiest to get the juices flowing again by taking on something new. I picked up this kit about a year ago at a swap meet and have had it rolling around in the back of my head ever since, so I thought "why not give it a go?"

Matthew - Yes... I think it is wood veneer... I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it though...

bughunter - Haha. Too late! I believe that kits need to fulfil their destiny and be built. Otherwise, what's the point?

Uwe - This is my first time trying one, but it certainly lives up to the term "short run". Hopefully I'll be able to find the diamond under all that rough.
