Corsair Mk.II
Just want a simple, carefree OOB build.
Sprue shot
I used Tamiya sky grey Enamel for the instrument.
Added gloss varnish drops on each instrument.
Cockpit overall done.
As you can see, a rather simple cockpit.
I gave some more scribing to make the panel lines more pronounced.
Preshaded
painting started, underside with C26 Duck Egg Green and C331 Dark Sea Grey.
Masking on, first time trying with something similar with blue tac. Very sticky to get it off from the fingers.
Painted with H78 Olive Drab.
Gave some dry brushing with C8 silver on the front of the aircraft surfaces and propeller section.
all main parts assembled, coated with gloss varni
Applying OOB decals. at first, I was skeptical whether it will break or not due to the age of the decals, but thankfully most of it are not breaking and conforms quite well!
reacts fine with Mr. Mark Setter but had to be very careful. In my opinion, the decal quality actually really good coming from a very old kit.
Decal finished, coated with matt varnish.
added some weathering, then coated again with matt varnish and another coat of gloss varnish.
Cockpit mask finally peeled off.
A little peek on the cockpit. The clear part is already blurry from the start.
Kit is finished and the book is closed. In my opinion, it is a very nice and basic kit with good enough details on the exterior. In today standard it still can keep up but at best it is a good kit.
