JAS 39A Gripen
Sprue shot.
Cockpit finished with Red Fox 3D decal.
Putty work are required on this kit, from cockpit, fuselage, to wing joints.
Sanding and Putty, again and again..
a little preshading.
There are uneven mold on the vertical stabilizer root from the right half of the fuselage parts.
painting some wires with creative liberation. Not really accurate on the real thing.
Did light wash with Tamiya Panel Liner.
Assembling the gear bay, I encountered some fit issues on the rear gear bay in which involves several CA glue applications.
Added some weathering and smokes
Final assembly of gear bay and started doing the ordinances. painting it in what I thought live munitions.
95% done.
Final assembly with all ordinances.
This Project is finally closed! I had some reservations about the kit fitting on some parts and prominent mold lines in almost all parts! I had many 'whoopsies' on the process from decal applications where I lost some on the process in which mostly due to my lack of refined technique. Assembly on the crucial parts like wing root, canards, and many delicate parts must be noted. Accuracy of the real thing is probably alright but not the best one out there. My personal rating would be an Okay kit in 6.5/10, nonetheless it is alright kit as long it is done.
