F-100D Super Sabre
Modified seat with added PE bits
Exhaust from Eduard
parts of cockpit ready for assembly
cockpit in place
fuselage halves ready for assembly
I have closed holes for pylons I won't need
first look shows minor need for filling
begins to take shape 🙂
needed 3 steps to fill and set bad upper left wing-to-fuselage joint
added some wiring in wheel bays
I have managed to drop the plane and break paper-thin nose. This was corrected with piece of styrene sheet, filled with super-glue
Paint session lasted for few days - darker panels were masked with low-tack Tamiya tape
after unmasking
almost there...
close-up of engine area, of darker shade
decals are on, with some nuisance...
... but look nice 🙂
I didn't like look of joint between windshield and fuselage...
so I made another "panel" out of thin aluminium sheet
Interior is finished, finally...
few more details and tiny bits...
and finally it's finished!!!

Guido, you should think of including Eduard's set and vacformed canopy - it really improves the model 🙂 BTW, this is the same Esci/Italeri tool, only in Revell's box.

Thanks everybody, I really appreciate that 🙂
Guido, I don't know about Aires, but it looks much better, especially in the rear part of the cockpit. I'm quite satisfied with this solution, but it requires some additional scratchbuilding :-/

Thanks, Seb and Guido 🙂
Guido, Eduard gives small etched rectangle (4x2mm) that attaches to the inside of canopy's top rear part and goes into slot in fuselage. You'll also notice few cubes - I used one as a support for the canopy frame until the superglue dries.

Very nice result, Zoran! 👍 I especially like the cockpit and the metal effect of the plane.

Very colourful markings, it looks great! Even after all these years, the old Esci kit is still the best F-100 out there.
