Hey Mike, you have a really nice semi-gloss finish here, very appropriate for the scale (instead of super shiny). Did you rub it out, micro-mesh it, or some other patented trade secret? 🙂

Thanks for your kind comments! @Bill, the white is Tamiya white surface primer, with a few coats of Future airbrushed on top, built up in light misted coats until I'd achieved the semi-gloss I was aiming for.

Very Clean & Crisp build Mike...
Before I read anything, I thought it was a pic of the real plane...
Hard to believe it's Airfix, no disrespect to Airfix of course😳

Great work! I watch them almost every day refuelling at Ljubljana airport on way from London and Paris to Teheran.

Magnificent work, a lot of work needed to make it this good, well done.

Mike, Outstanding work! What a beautiful build. I agree with your analysis. Nothing too difficult about an older kit that a little hard work and patience can't fix. Keep 'em coming!

nicely done 🙂
older kits are worth the tackling for sure and as Dutch says a little hard work and patience can overcome many flaws, also it heightens the appreciation of the high quality of modern kits and just how far kit manufacturing has come over the decades 🙂

Mike, After looking more closely at the photos, it is readily apparent that you are master of the craft. My hat is off to you!

I think I would be more than "generally happy" if I could produce an old Airfix model to look like that! 10/10🙂

I have to say that this is one of the cleanest builds I have ever seen before...your skills are amazing, for me you are "magic-mike" 😉
