I start with cutting up half the hull details to be able to substitute them with shiny brass particles. As usual, Hobbyboss means a tight fit.

Voyager's fenders are a nice addition to this model, but the embossing causes a lot of warping to put up with.

The photo-etch parts make this model shine. The fenders are now much thinner and there is a real tow cable in stead of the plastic part. Radiator grilles are almost translucent.

The aft is littered with PE particles.

looks impressive with that much brass on it, im looking forward to your paint job! (digital pixel camo would be nice too)

Thanks, Henrik. I had already seen it done in pixel camo recently, but I prefer it's woodland camo because of the colors.

The ZLC has been primed in Armypainter's Necrotic Flesh. I had to drill an extra porthole in the hull because somebody at Hobbyboss must have been sleepy.

Just a thought. 🙂 With the missile you have painted red, I am wondering.
Now you have fitted the rear fins, if there are some fins that would be a lot thinner for the front fins that you could find to give it that "More to scale' look ?
I am not criticizing what you have done, as I am fascinated by the detail your PE bits have created, and a missile with thinner fins would 'fit'. 🙂 Cheers.

I had considered that already, but I could find little reference for this vehicle and I expected that if Voyager found it worthwile to change the larger fins, they were not bothered by the front ones. Between the large and the small fins there is another set of protrusions, that are not planar but conical. Would these also need to be changed? And would these also show the CA glue stains like I have on the large ones? I would probably need to make incisions in the tip to steady them.

The tracks are painted and a filter from Mig has been applied.

Like I said since I was here last. My comment was just a thought mate. 😉
Now I will say, I think you have made a wonderful build here.

It looks well presented and clean and neat. 🙂 🙂

Thanks, Kerry. I finished the model and now I'm concocting something to put it on.

Google some images of the real thing and go from there. And you will come up with something wonderful. 🙂 Just like what you have here. !!!

And now it's really done. Road markings added, filtered and the vehicle fixed. I can concentrate on my Churchill build now.

Album info

This ZLC-2000 will sport a nice Voyager upgrade and will probably just be painted like the boxart.
