I'm also a big fan of the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation. Which kit of the CA-15 have you built here, please.

Thanks guys. wilky - this is the Czech Master Resin (CMR) kit (the later version with decals. The kit is OK but takes a bit of work (and filler!).

It's a interesting subject and one of the fastest inline piston engine aircraft. But it came along at a time when jet aircraft were in development. So was cancelled before it went into service. Kind of reminds me of the Martin Baker MB.5 a lot. There were plans for a supercharged radial engine version too! That's something i wouldn't mind scratch building! CAC designed some great aircraft and modified the F-86 Sabre into the CA-27 Avon powered Sabre as well as the CA-23 design kinda like a E.E. Lightning but with side by side engines instead of stacked on top of each other.

Actually it was originally designed to have a Pratt and Whitney R-2800 radial engine with a turbocharger but CAC were unable to acquire the desired power plant and so the Rolls-Royce Griffin Mk 61 engine was leased for the project.
Lawrence Wackett was instrumental in the CA-15 not entering into production as he decided that they would be better off to produce the Mustang under licence thus the CA-15 project languished and became another could of been

Great job, I made a mess of my attempt to build this, different kit, so really appreciate your effort here. A unique bit of Aussie history

The CA-15 "Kangaroo" designed by CAC at the end of WW2 as a high speed fighter. Only one plane ever completed, it was not put into production due to the new jet age after WW2. This kit is built out of the box, with the only addition being the propellor logo decals. This was also my first time using Alclad metal finish paints - I'm hooked
