Fantastic model, not only because I'm a Stars Wars fan, the metal finish is marvellous

Thanks Norbert. The kit finish was just a little too bright for my liking but it weathered down nicely. It now almost looks like polished brass!

As Norbert said - nice metal finish. I haven't noticed before how 'Art Deco' C-3PO is.

Well gorbygould, the design for C-3PO was heavily influenced by the Maschinenmensch robot from the Fritz Lang film Metropolis, the style of which was indeed very much Art Deco.

The cables in the belly are straight from the kit, Spanjaard. Most of the grey and white cabling is a pair of decals carefully wrapped around with lots of decal set and softener to make them settle down into the moulded detail. The red cables and grey tubes with gold connectors are kit parts that have been painted and weathered.

Of course! I have see Metropolis, but it was over thirty years ago - and I have problems remembering what I have for breakfast sometimes. Now I've Googled to remind me, the connection is obvious.

Graham, just a question... did you paint C-3PO or just weathered the unpainted finish?
Thanks

Wow! Excellent job, looks like the original C3PO and not like a 15 cm model! (Just yesterday I watched part VI...)
