A fascinating truck imo. Though I find it strange that these kits are so expensive. I wonder if there are licensing issues. I also like this camo scheme. 🙂 With the black, it sort of gives me a Vietnam war vibe I think.

Thanks for your kind comments Holly, Lode & Treehugger. Yes the HEMTT variants are my favorite military trucks, I just wish they were a bit cheaper as well. I'd like to get another M-977 and put a Hummer on the back of her.

Looking good so far. Military trucks are quite cool. I've worked around them for the last 30+ years. Mostly fire trucks , but I've dealt with Hum-Vs and had the opportunity to work around the Army Fire Truck which is based on the HEMTT chassis.

Thanks Bryn, yeah I wanted to get the fire fighting conversion for this kit but when I saw the price of all that resin, I quickly changed my mind. Must have been awesome working with the 1:1 scale gear, the closet I got to trucks was driving civilian ones all over N.S.W here down under.

I think the kits are most likely unlicensed. They never seem the mention the name "Oshkosh" any where on the boxes. The new Trumpeter kits are great but getting a bit too expensive too! I ordered the one with the large radar on the trailer and would like to get the new low loader version as well. I would love the ten wheel version too!

Dragon do one as well but being Dragon well you know i'd rather go for the Trumpeter kit. But the Dragon one has aluminum rods for the missile tubes!

I think answering my own question the military just use the M1120 and put the THAAD system on the back of that.

Finally after being on and off my bench for the past couple of years I'm calling this babe finished. Not going to put her on a dio, just going to get a piece of black, patterned timber and a name plate and call her done.🙂
