Welcome guys! First up is a lot of cleaning. there is a lot of flash and sinkmarks needed filling. The orange plastic is already starting to hurt my eyes 😛

The fusalage is put together. It fits quite well for such an old kit. The interior is basic (only 2 chairs), but as i want to build is OOB i didn't change anything. Work oon the engine has also begun.

Added the tail and the upper wing. It didn't quite fit so a lot of filling and sanding is needed (gaps between tail and fusalage, supports for upper wing to long and awkward shape).
Engine is done though.

Maybe one of you guys know, did all the K5Y1's have the machine gun? Or can i leave it out? Because the place where it should be mounted would be totally blocked by the engine....

Well done and very nice progress so far Rick 👍
Your Question is as always when it comes to japanese Planes of WWII not easily to answer with yes or no. Depends on where your peticular plane was in duty. I would say you can leave it away if you build a trainer version somewhere in the motherland at the beginning or in the middle of the campaign.
Later they were nearly all armed with two 7,7mm MG'S as they were widely used as a light ground attack aircraft comparable to the Po-2 of the soviets

Thanks for your advice Daniel! I'll make it as a trainer so i leave the machine gun out. (it looks better without it anyway.
Landing gear is on (with exeption of the weels) and the primer is sprayed on.

The orange coat is on. It looks a lot darker on the photo than it actually is.

Thanks for the compliments guys!
I painted the wingsupports and other details. Now i need to touch up the paintjob. That's gonna be hard because of the orange.. hope it will conceal the parts were the other paint came by accident.

So.... a new update. Engine and landing gear is attatched. Next up were the decals. Though these looked quite nice in condition, they really were not. it took nearly half an hour to get the decals of the sheet. they were also quite fragile and some of them broke. I tried to fix those as good as i could but this caused frustration.
@bobinspokaloo, yea, this is indeed such an old kit! Hope it will turn out nice! (It will certainly not be my best build but i try to make it presentable.
Next up is the rigging!

The Willow is finished. Not the best one (maybe the worst i build in the last year)... I wouldn't built this kit again. I'll probibly would have bought a newer kit.

Nice work. I agree with the mates. I think I prefer this kit than Valom's. Congrats!
