Just started with this PE battle 🙂
The first thing to overcome is to match the colours of the preprinted parts
the pictures show some effect of light reflection - especial on the instrument panel - I will fix this by adding a matt coat and give the instruments some glossy coat
hope you like it

Thank you Ben, your comment is much appreciated 🙂
the colour of the instrument panel looks a little bit strange caused by the print on it 🤔
grey is the most complicated colour to print and in this case they used a very low screen ruling or inkjet print quality
but there is not much of it visible after it's put into place - therefore it does not bother me to much 🙂

The cockpit is looking great Stephan. I really like the wood grain on the floor.

Thank you Nathan and Thomas glad that you like it 🙂
The wood is a pe part that's painted in different brown colours finished with a black and brown wash
I'm also happy with the result 🙂

Primer is finally on 🙂
I decided to go for a closed canopy without a pilot, cause of the nice details inside

The Tamiya Kit really makes a good impression 👍
Your modeling skills will turn it into a jewel 👍 until today I only built the Accurate Miniature, let's see what the year will bring 🙂

As always😉! So much time we spent for the perfect pit... And at the end you only see a very small part of it😉!

That's so true Konrad - a lot of time consuming details are never seen again after the build is done 🤔

Indeed Konrad we know - therefore I put a little detail to the tailgunner position😉
Not much of this will be seen when put into position 🤔 but it's there

Thank you Arne and Björn,
glad that you like it 🙂
Just for the record😉 the decals are very thin and tend to break when moved after set to the surface 🤔

Today only some small progress 🤔
I finished the rear gunner position 🙂 but I wished to had smaller fingers to get that stuff in there easily
Japanes people may have smaller fingers😉

Nice job Stephan👍. I like all of the details in the cockpit and rear gunner. We all here on the scalemates know that they are there, thank you for the photos.

I'm very happy with the rear gunner section
Maybe a reargunner back in those days were unhappy people - they didn't have a seat only a very little hammock to sit in 🤔

Thank you James, glad that you like it 🙂 I agree with you that the reargunner had a lot of worries - like the nice little fuel tank behind him 🤔

That rear gunner seat (strap?) reminds me of the little hammock - like seat used by the radar operator in the F7F-3N Tigercat. Looks great!

Yes Donald this is Tamiya goodness - except of the mask - it was very painful to remove them - they are very sticky
But for now I can say I'm nearly down the line with this build. Some engine grime and some touch ups here and there and this big bird is ready 🙂
Found out that the base I liked to put it on is a little to small - so I will correct this within the next days

I was not happy with the last setup of the dio - so I rearranged some things
added more figures to give it more life
added some used drums and tools
and finale found a solution to show the nice detail of the PE parts of the landing flaps
hope you like it 🙂
