Russian Field Car Progress
Basic assembly done, and base painted with Tamiya Nato Black.
Base color and a bit of post shading using lighter colors.
After a layer of clear coat.
Decals are on. Now let's make it dirty! 😉
First stage. Panel Liners and a matt varnish.
Second stage. Oil paints for shading and highlights and making the seats look more worn. Next will be some rust 🙂.
Wear, tear and rust has been applied using acrylic paints.
Some dirt in the form of pigments have been applied and now I consider the car finished.
Window is hinged and can be put in any position.
A bit extra dirt on the under side 😉.
There is a significant difference in detail and crispness between the Tamiya driver (green plastic) and the ICM figures. I love these ICM figure kits.
A base of gray paint before the hand painting with the Vallejo's begin.
Starting with the faces and hands. Vallejo basic skin tone and flesh wash.
Quite a jump from the previous picture.. 😉 The officers are finished! The method is basically the same, first base colors for the clothing, then washes and dry brushing, followed by detail painting. Next are the mechanics.
Everything is finished! 🙂
Mockup with an old Airacobra build. The propeller on this build is a little loose as you can see in the pictures. Perhaps that is why the mechanics are scratching their heads. 😉

I've stared the build of the Russian field car, the GAZ-67B. Most of the assembly has been done and all parts are base painted with Tamiya's Nato Black.

Another update. This kit is really simple to build, not a lot of parts. Base color and decals are done, now let's see if we can make it a bit dirty.😉

First weathering stages are finished with with panel liners and oils. Next will be some rust and dirt and stains. But I will have to wait for the oils to dry first.

Thank you Acki and James! 🙂
I've started working on the figures now. Only assembly and base paint so far. These ICM figures are really nicely detailed. There is a significant difference between them and the Tamiya driver figure from the GAZ-67B kit.

Thank you Acki and Stephan!
The ICM figures are great, but there is one thing though.. They do have alot of medals on their chests. It's like they are taking part of a parade or something. Wouldn't they just have the ribbons during wartime deployment? It seems a bit cumbersome running around with all of those medals on their chests..

So, everything is finished. 🙂 I did a little mockup with an old Airacobra build to give it a little more context.

Thank you Murad and Tim! 🙂 For now the car and figures will go along my planes in the bookshelf. I hope to learn how to build dioramas some time in the future.

A lovely gathering... Beautiful paint job in48 scale! All the medals just add a lot of eye candy, looking great!

Bjorn, It's kind of like a model build as to diorama's, You picture what you want it to look like. You research it and then decide how to do it, and each time you do it , you learn more for the next one. Also, just like models you learn to paint things and realize more colors brings things out. should you look at my builds, most have some type of diorama to them, some simple, some not so. If I can help in any way, please feel free to ask. I'm no pro but do a decent job.

Tom ...
Love the figures! I've taken a break from model building for the summer but I'm tempted to get some figures and just learn how to paint them. Bravo! Amazing work

Thank you Tom! 🙂 Painting figures is fun and not so hard if they have a nice level of detail.
