Pak 40 is old Tamiya kit with all that means. It’s not bad kit, it builds nicely, nice fits, no flash, few ejection marks and easy to follow instructions that are clear. Simple and it can be put together in 2 hours. Care needs to be taken when assembling gun barrel, as it’s made from two parts a bit of work is needed to fix seams. Priming it right after assembly is good idea, it shows problems right away and you can fix them before you move on and then sanding/puttying is more awkward. I suppose you could invest in some AM parts but that would bring overall price to level of newer, better kits. Best thing is to just accept it for what it is and then use it as either simply build or as practice for painting, weathering or for some dio building technique you wanted to try. Still deciding which colour looks better, this time I used Vallejo MA 25 (Dark Yellow) instead of ME 81 (Tank Ochre 1943). Might be a bit too light. I think it’s still OK, but could be better……
