The idea was to get a very aerodynamic form. No cabane struts, less wires, etc. And apparently it worked, the prototype seemed to be very fast for the day. Problem was landing... The pilot had no downward visibility while landing and often had to stand up in the cockpit to see where he was (above ground) so as not to crash. That was the main reason the plane wasn't developed further.
