Epoxy plug as cockpit front, doubles as blanking plate behind splitter. Cut off front of cockpit "tub" to allow for dropping in of splitter once interior of intake trunk is smoothed. Test fits going well so far!
Worst fitting part of kit, better test fitting would have saved some time here. Still, a great fit for an old kit. Got some minor scribing to fix, wing tanks are tough to scribe straight!
Brush formula (BlueLine ) Hataka paint, lovely stuff!-Two coats of Silk Grey on, belly - bubbles in green circle are caused by not wetting the brush first..easily remedied. Levels nicely, I will be getting more of their products!.
color recommendations for 50s IDF colors all over the place, went with Yoav Efrati's suggested colors, using Vallejo Model Air Golden brown 71.032 and IDF blue 71.113 - now you can see the sizable gap around the windscreen to fill -
Print Scale decals are nice and thin, behave well so far - the sharkmouth is correct with red on the bottom, as the Heller kit decals have the black and red reversed. May need some help with the curvature of the intake - letting them settle overnight.
Print Scale decals still silvered a wee bit - maybe base was not glossy enough? Small aerial on left of nose is made from fur off of my German Shepherd - once segmented, the thick kt canopy will fit right over the rear decking. Pitot tube is steel music wire.
