First step - join the 2 halves of the hull together.
Actually a very good fit - only needed one small dot of filler.
I held to 2 halves together with masking tape, then ran around the seam letting the Extra Thin Tamiya glue seep into the join. Very easy!

7 parts make up each of these hatches, with the back of the hatches never seeing the light of day when installed! PE for the handle worked well.

These parts were marked to be painted Tamiya Gold - to bright!!
On the propeller I also tried to shape the flat blades a little, and covered the initial gold with Tamiya Bronze, but that was too dark, so I then settled for Tamiya Metallic Brown. much better!

Will leave these parts off the model until after spray painting the hull, etc. Finished off the 2 masts(??) with Tamiya Gunmetal.

Close up of the hull with the ladder(?) positioned horizontally, which I guess is where it stayed when submersed.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/6/1/4/1024614-11453-76-720.jpg)
The bayonet mount permits the ladder(?) to be moved to the vertical position.

Close up of the elevator & rudder controls - I believe that these are rather inaccurate (the elevator controls should ONLY be on the starboard side), but I had to show off the detailed small assembly work here.

Close up of the bow, showing the joining of 3 "D-Shackles", ready for the mooring cable
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/6/1/8/1024618-11453-93-720.jpg)
The mooring cable runs up to this attachment point on the port side - although that's not displayed in the kit instructions.
