Thank you, Simon! It's been a great kit to come back to. My late father purchased it for me back in the early 2000's so I finally decided to order all the needed goodies to work on it.

Nice progress!!
Like to see how it grows😄
Good looking pre shading and nice chipping effects
I expect great things from you😉
I've also built this kit a long time ago- my 1st king tiger ever😁
Tamiya's quality is always astonishing, i've built a m4 from the early 80s, and this one could keep up with the 2010 release from dragon!

Usually just the area I place transfers, Ben. Then I matte varnish the entire model before going to the next steps. Thank you again Simon!

Awesome paint work, and fantastic looking camouflage scheme 👍
What brand and colours did you use for the camo?

Thanks guys! James, the paints I used for the camo were as follows: Mission Models Dunkelgelb 1944, Mig/Ammo Olivgrun Opt 2 and Mig/Ammo Rotbraun. I tweaked the Rotbraun slightly with a few colors to match some reference photos I've seen. Then I went back after the camo was dry and sprayed a lightened mix of the camo (Added some dunkelgelb to the mix) just to get some fading and highlights.

the mud effects seems really nice, - soon it's time to put it into a dio 😉

Thanks again everyone for all the kind words! I posted up a poorly drawn illustration for the diorama idea I've had planned. It'll of course have a lot of tweaking. But the general idea is for the King Tiger to be one of the last few retreating from France to Belgium around 1944.
