F-22A
I wasn't able to get the gold tone well enough to add to this kit. I still need some practice before I trust myself to attempt for a completed build.
My first coat of over coat came out way too blue. So I had to customize the paint a bit and tone it down. I ended up with a bit of silver added to air force grey with a touch of gull grey added in. I think its a good look.
Its hard to gather from these photos, but I do have the two-tone camo applied. I purposely toned it down to better match with reference photos.
You might be able to see some of the panel washes and panel lining I applied. I like a little weathering at this scale but I try to be careful not to over-do it.
There are a lot of variations in the engine colors. I tried to match as best I could.
I use extra fine tip markers to apply the striping onto my missiles. Its maybe not perfect pin-striping, but better than I can do with paint.
Maybe you can catch a bit more of that weathering, some chalking and panel color was added to the under surfaces and wheel bays. I think I should have added a bit more red wash to simulate hydraulic fluid.
The Aim-9 cheek launch rails were the hardest bits. Cutting them from the sprue did result in a breakage, but I was able to repair it with some CA and accelerator.
