Mazda MX-5 roadster WIP

Preparation stage. I’m not sure if my tactic will lead to a succesfull end but i decided to surface everything in black as first, then try to paint everything in stages according to color used.  

So many parts, but the bigger problem is that many of parts needs different layers of color. So lets get prepared to hours of masking and brush painting! ? 

Car body surfaced in Mr. Surfacer 1500. The panel lines were enhanced before, to make them deeper.

Everything black. 

 

 

 

After light layer of tamiya X-Gun Metal metallic color. Like all basic Tamiya’s metallic colors it has very big metal pigments that looks not so pretty in final. 

Little experiment with adding baby powder to add “carpet” and seat texture… not so happy with it but nevermind. 

Interior assembly finished. It was really fun, everything fits perfect like all new tamiya releases.
