KI-43 II
underside is mostly done except for clear coat of fuselage
primer testing, going with MRP 1 to 1 levelling thinner, I wanted the alclad to win, but after testing the top coat over it, the alclad silver didn't make the topcoat pop like a white primer did
half way through the primer and I noticed a seam that doesn't look out of place, but should not be there
parched grass topcoat done
got my good camera out and snapped a pic with the markings done, all paint!
cam pattern testing - I wanted to do the inverse of my last KI 43, but I realized it would look like a giraffe, I'm not sold on either pattern here so I may take a break
Tricky area here. I planned to work from the wing down, as a
reference to line everything else up, but the 'clamps'
had to be attached to the EFT before being attached to the
wing. On the previous build (Type I) the EFT attached
directly to the wing.

I was talked into leaving the camo off the model, so here
it is so far, a solid 'parched grass'. The further along
I get, the more careful I need to be!

Thank you!
The Aotake is courtesy of MR Paint. It is over polished aluminum on the flaps and gear bay. Everywhere else the aotake is over medium grey.

Album info
Another KI 43, another 'could have been'. Obviously I'm not going for realism, I build what I like, hope you like it too. I was tempted to build a third one and do a video of pointers, but I already started my next project and I'm sure that will take up all my spare time. Info: Hasegawa 1/48 KI 43 type II, no decals used, Vallejo for cockpit and tiny parts, MRP for everything else. Made my own masks and used some Tamiya panel line enamels.
