North American F-86F Sabre What-If

Escala:
1:72
Estado:
Terminado

In 1955 Iraq joined the Middle East Treaty Organisation also known as Bagdad Pact. Several sources state that this, apart from other reasons, led to the delivery of five F-86F Sabre jets in mid-1958. Shortly after their delivery a Coup d'État forced a bloody end of the monarchy in Iraq. As the new air force command turned towards soviet sources to acquire military equipment the Sabres were first stored and later returned. My model depicts one of the Sabres in the livery of their intended user, the former Royal Iraqi Air Force. To my best knowledge no pictures of the real aircrafts exist and there is some doubt if the story is true at all. Thus my interpretation is purely speculative and considered by myself as a What-If build.
