First project for 2014, Tamiya's RAF Spitfire Mk.1, using Victory Spitfire decal set, this will be a Battle of Britain machine in the RAF Dk Earth/Green over Black/Sky scheme. Starting as usual with the cockpit. Prepainting with Humbrol RAF Interior Grey Green. And also prepping the bits to accept the Eduards PE enhancements.

Next was to work on the IP. Sanding off the details, smoothing the surface to make it even as possible. A dab of white glue and then attaching the PE detail bits in order to create a nice IP.

Next to assemble the floor rails and rear bulkhead. Detail painting of the seat using MM Dk Brown for the cushion. Next to attach the armor plating on the bulkhead and the headrest armor plate above the seat. The the seat is installed and ready to attach the seatbelts.

And to finish this session, attach the yoke, pedals and the head rest. Highlight the raised areas with a silver pencil to show wear areas on the floor. Next time the side consoles and assemble the fuselage. The build starts to move on rather quickly once the cockpit is finished and installed. More to follow
