A-4C Skyhawk VA-64 CVAN-65 Med Cruise 1963-64

VA-64 known as the Black Lancers was the second squadron to carry the VA-64 designation. The squadron flew A4D-2N/A-4C and A4D-2/A-4B aircraft.
VA-64 embarked on USS Enterprise 18 November–5 December 1962 in the Caribbean as part of the Cuban quarantine. It was further deployed on CVAN-65 June 63 to March 64, as part of CVG/CVW-6, conducting operations in the vicinity of Cyprus during a conflict between Turkish and Greek Cypriots and participating in Operation Sea Orbit 31 July–3 October 1964, the first circumnavigation of the world by a nuclear task force. The sixty-five-day voyage was accomplished without logistic replenishment. The squadron participated in numerous air power demonstrations during the voyage.
