Who did this to my my tank?!?

Was it the Resistance who adorned and renamed "Thor" (as it was christened by its commander, Horst) to "Thora"? Or its own crew, with too much time on their hands and a bone to pick with Horst because he vetoed their original proposal for the name of the vehicle ("Fischdose")?

"Only the dog knows for sure", as they say.

But no matter who did it, the character of the former behemoth was changed considerably to something a lot less sinister.

This started out as one of my quick builds. Every now and then I try to finish a kit within a tight timeframe as this is a good way to hone one's skills.

Tamiya's and Trumpeter's early armour kits are the perfect test beds for this approach. Case in point: Tamiya's old Jagdpanzer IV, bought for the price of a cinema ticket (remember those?). They have a new tooling, but from what I have seen, the tripling in price is not really reflected in the quality of a properly finisehd model - YMMV.

This would have been completed in under 20 hours if it hadn't been for the fact that a figure was included. I don't know why, but these always inspire me to use them in ways not originally intended by the kit supplier.

In this case, it was the grim-looking tanker peering out of the hatch that made my mind go off on a tangent. And the prominent protrusion on the glacis. The instructions still follow the (sadly) dying tradition of telling you what the parts are in real life, so I found out that it's an "M.G. Cover". Go figure! After a bit of judicious painting, it gave the commander something to focus his attention on. A decal left over from a recent Hobby Boss 1:72 scale Mörser Karl build, suitably augmented with the paintbrush, and some scratchbuilt details did the rest.

Gentlemen, I admit the subject is a little risqué, but please keep the comments civil!

Also, comments regarding the historical accuracy (as regards colours, markings etc.) are beside the point - I admit from the start there is no such thing involved here.
