This kit has lingered in a semi-started stage on my "shelf of doom" for too long, so it is time to see if I can actually finish it. Not yet sure which version I will build, the camouflaged one or the yellow one - I have the decals for both, so we'll see.

I am still contemplating what to do with the panel lines on the model. They will obviously need to go as I cannot stand raised lines, but I cannot just leave the surfaces blank and lifeless. On the real thing, the surfaces have overlapping panels riveted together and also riveted to the frame, so the "panel lines" are in fact mostly rivet lines: thousands of really visible, protruding rivets! I am not sure I will be able to represent this with my rivet wheel tool as I cannot seem to be able to draw straight lines with the damn thing for my life. Just rescribing everything is also unrealistic, it would make the model look like an Excel spreadsheet. I guess I will have to test it on a mule.

Also I am still thinking if I should make a yellow or a green/blue camo version: both are really attractive. I guess I will do what I usually end up with: getting a second kit and build both.

I did the Sk.50 some month ago. I did the main rivet lines with the rivet wheel tool and Tamiya tape. And I think that is enough in this scale. 😉

What comes to my mind is a scotch tape and riveting tool. Haven't tried it on my own, but it's thicker than Tamiya.
Btw. Why does the yellow verion carry the roundels and civilian Id at the same time?

Harry & Łukasz, thanks for the tip - Harry, your SK50 looks stunning! :-D I think I will do the same, but probably use Dymo labeler tape as guide, or possibly electrical tape, which I am often using for panel scribing.
Łukasz, it is because it is withdrawn from service from the Swedish Air Force, and is now a privately registered civilian aircraft. I think this one belongs to the Aviation Museum at Västerås, but AFAIK it is still airworthy. There is also a camouflaged SK50 at my airport where I fly, it is registered as SE-KGZ.

It´s also possible to take some layers of Tamiya tape or an electrical tape. You better get into the curves and small areas then dymo tape.
